ITALY: Streetart Palermo – Urban Art in the capital of Sicily Island

Palermo is the capital of the Italian region and island of Sicily and has a population of approximately 640.000 within the city limits; well over a million people live in the metropolitan area. The city was founded in the 8th century B.C. by the Phoenicians and later shaped by the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, and Spaniards. If you’re interested in urban art, you should visit the Ballarò, Kalsa, and Albergheria neighborhoods. GERMANY: Wilhelmshaven – International Streetart Festival – Floor Murals

From 1st to 3rd August in 2025, the INTERNATIONAL STREETART FESTIVAL WILHELMSHAVEN took place for the 13th time in downtown Wilhelmshaven. In the pedestrian zone and in the Nordsee Passage, 31 artists from eleven countries laid their colorful and ephemeral works of art at the feet of visitors via floor murals. From imaginative motifs to astonishingly realistic depictions, the entire spectrum of street painting was presented in the three categories “Copy,” “3D,” and “Free Art”. The first edition took place in 2011. Since 2024, there has also been the additional SPRAY WATT GRAFFITI FESTIVAL, which is specifically for writers.

AUSTRALIA: Darwin Street Art Festival – Fantastic Annual Urban Art Event since 2017

The fantastic DARWIN STREET ART FESTIVAL, or in short DSAF, is an annual street art event in Darwin, founded in 2017 to culturally revitalize the downtown area and artistically transform vacant spaces. The festival usually takes place over several weeks between May and August with key hotspots including laneways and streets in the CBD such as Austin Lane, West Lane, and Shadforth Lane; in addition, the projects have expanded to suburbs like Parap, Nightcliff, and Casuarina. Since its inception, over 130 large-scale works have been created in the city, resulting in Darwin now being virtually covered in murals.

USA: Streetart Seattle – SODO TRACK – 4Culture, UrbanArtworks & SodoBia Mural Project

The two-mile rapid transit corridor leading into downtown Seattle was transformed between 2016 and 2018 when 4CULTURE commissioned 64 artists from around the world to paint 51 murals on the backs of industrial buildings. This open air urban art gallery is called SODO TRACK. The participating artists brought a broad range of backgrounds, styles, and approaches to the project with animated frames, patterns that evoke Native American dance movements, creatures that leap toward distant vanishing points, washes of color, bold graphic lettering, and much more.

NEPAL: Bharatpur Streetart Festival – Urban Art Event by My Friend’s Hostel, Spacio & Nepalu

The first phase of the BHARATPUR STREET ART FESTIVAL took place from 8th to 15th February in 2026. However, this was only the pilot of this extensive project; plans are in place to paint many more walls, ideally at all schools in the city, and then, following a successful implementation, to launch the master project: The painting of the large Pulchowk Narayani Bridge. This could thus become the country’s largest urban artwork and a creative landmark of the city. This amazing festival project is organized by MY FRIEND’S HOSTEL, NEPALU and SPACIO.

NICARAGUA: Streetart Masaya – Graffiti and Urban Art at the Masaya Volcano

Masaya is a city in southwestern Nicaragua at the foot of the Masaya volcano with a population of around 195.000. Among the most important sights are the Mercado de Artesanías with regional handicrafts, the historic center with the 18th-century church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, and the lively Monimbó neighborhood. Just outside the city is Masaya Volcano National Park with active craters and volcanic landscapes. But on this page we focus on the urban artworks around the streets.

SOUTH KOREA: Gwangju – Penguin Village – Yangnim-dong – Creative Neighborhood

The Yangnim-dong neighborhood in Gwangju, better known as Penguin Village is a creative art space close to the west bank of the Gwangjucheon river. The community is a small, creative enclave in Gwangju. It emerged from an old residential area dating back to the 1970s and 1980s, which residents transformed into a sort of open-air exhibition. The name “Penguin Village” comes from the fact that older residents with knee problems resembled penguins when they walked. Today, the village is known for its colorful murals, artwork made from recycled objects, and an unusual, nostalgic atmosphere.

NORTH MACEDONIA: Streetart Skopje – Karpoš – Zdravko Cvetkovski School – Stop Bullying Jam

The Zdravko Cvetkovski High School in Skopje is a public secondary school with a long tradition dating back to 1944. It is located in the Karpoš district and is one of the city’s most important educational institutions, particularly in the technical field. In 2019, a fantastic graffiti jam took place on the school campus under the motto “Stop Bullying,” which addressed the themes of discrimination and exclusion. Several fantastic writing pieces and characters were created on a section of the sports facility wall, and additional graffiti can be found around the premises.

CHILE: Streetart Valparaíso – Stencil Collection – Artworks throughout the City

Today we present you our collection archive with stencil artworks in Valparaíso. The creations are grouped into several categories like „Nature“, „Portraits“ or „Politics“, featuring stencils of Stalin, Allende, Che Guevara, and Pope John Paul II among others. In the art section there are images of Salvador Dali, and works of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Another group features characters and scenes from movies and comics, from Popeye the Sailor to The Simpson. It also groups musicians like Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney or Madonna.

GERMANY: Streetart Berlin – Wedding – Fabrik23 – Creativity Meets Industrial Heritage

The FABRIK 23 is a former factory over 100 years old, hidden in a typical Berlin backyard, an authentic, not „over-renovated“ industrial ambience that cannot even be found in this form in the city. When the factory building with an area size of 16.500 qm was bought some years ago by a billionaire from New York who was interested in art, it was partly empty. Meanwhile, the factory has turned into a place that was even featured in the New York Times. A place where businesses, craftsmen, artists and creative companies find a home.
