Belgrade is the capital of the south-eastern European state of Serbia with almost 1.5 million inhabitants. Worth seeing are the old town and the creative district of Dorćol, but also the block-like Novi Beograd or the historically imposing fortress Beogradska Tvrđava at the mouth of the Sava into the Danube, where there is also the large Kalemegdan Park. As far as urban art is concerned, you’ll definitely find what you’re looking for! The Belgrade map is growing enormously and a lot is happening here, from large murals to exhibitions, streetart festivals and hip hop jams. Many thanks to BORIS VATOVEC and SAVO KATALINA for showing us countless places and contributing photos, information and “urban art hunting companionship”. If you also want to contribute to the Belgrade Map, you can write us or send us photos to info@vagabundler.com.
How does the map work? All the buttons on the map are links to a photo gallery of the spot, sometimes with only one photo, sometimes with heaps of photos or even a full article. The different symbols explain various categories of the streetart and graffiti artworks. In the navigation of the map on the left you can find the several markers sorted by the categories and it´s possible to hide or fade these layers.
