KAZAKHSTAN: Streetart Map Almaty – Graffiti and Urban Art in the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains

Almaty is the largest metropolis in Kazakhstan and is located in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountain. It was the country’s capital until 1997 and has continued to be Kazakhstan’s commercial and cultural center. Landmarks include the Central State Museum with historical Kazakh artifacts, Panfilov Park in the center and the Tsarist-era Zenkov Cathedral. Of course, there is also beautiful urban art in the streets, from large murals and graffiti to small colorful gimmicks. Check out the collection by great photographer and art enthusiast Mike Hennessey aka See Some Streetart. With more than 200 photos we had enough to start a map. Have a look on the page time by time because more content is going to come from Almaty!
