When you think of performance, you think of dance. And when you think of painting, you think of canvas. But what happens if you find a way to combine that, so movement and painting? This is exactly what JANINE C SAUL does with her magnificent art by painting on fabric, positioning it in a special way or letting it flutter in the wind. BRITAIN: Comic Illustrator Johnny Trip – Funny, provocative and sometimes pervert

By chance I came across the funny short comic strips of Johnny Trip, which he posts on Instagram at regular intervals. Mostly one shots, sometimes a few more, often funny, sometimes disturbing, but always holding the mirror up. Johnny Trip paints about the things nobody wants to talk about, puts them into characters and lets them act in the comic. And in this world it’s no problem, it’s just a comic. But Johnny’s comics often have it in them and go way below the belt. He provokes where necessary, mockes incompetent statesmen and horrible dictators, or skillfully packed criticism of religion and politics into his colourful creations. BRITAIN: Awesome Painter – Philip Cross

Coincidence or destiny? We had a special and creative encounter in the land of the rising sun after a long day of sightseeing in Hiroshima. During our trip to Japan, we came across the painter Philip Cross, who himself was on an inspirational journey through Asia. Deep in painting and flipping through his sketches, he sat at the table, listening to music and seemed inconspicuous at first. But the drawings spoke for themselves and in conversation Philip told of his previous experiences and the art. The deep passion for painting was equally clear, he draws from passion and is almost driven away. In a positive way.
