Discomformities with the rules, experiments with novelty and, above all, simply giving a fuck about the name. “It’s about how good you paint and how often you paint that counts”. The creative artist CODE26 from Gothenburg started with graffiti art at the end of the 90s, but his artistic range has since developed extensively and he paints everything from letters and figures to abstract creations. And sometimes he also paints JÖRG. Or whatever occurs to him at the moment and whatever he feels like doing.

SWEDEN: Streetart Gothenburg – Olivedal – Emigrantvägen 30 – Open Graffiti Wall

There is a lot of construction going on in Gothenburg’s Olivedal district and large building complexes and bypasses are being built, especially in areas close to the Göta älv river. Along a construction area on Emigrantvägen road a long barrier wall to the building site has been set up and this space is declared an open graffiti wall. You can officially paint and spray there legally. New works are constantly being created here and graffiti jams are regularly organized. Check out the great pieces!

The graffiti artist CABEL focuses on writing and letters, but he says that a good artist should be able to paint anything. Mostly it is his wildstyle name, but in addition to the great alphabetical formations, his art also includes a lot of times characters or a mixture of them in spacey atmospheres. The Swedish artist TONY B started with drawing on paper, followed by painting on human skin as a tattoo artist and finally also creating on walls as a graffiti sprayer. In Gothenburg he runs the magnificent tattoo studio UNIKUM with a team of six other great tattooers. His love is with the body decorations, but he kept on doing all of the other connected art genres too, so it is drawing, illustrations, tattoos and wall paintings. Check out the interview!

SWEDEN: Urban Art Trollhättan – 100th City Anniversary and Streetart Festival

Trollhättan is a town with 59.000 inhabitants and is located in the western Swedish province of Västra Götalands. Worth seeing are the neo-Gothic church, the historic canal or the stone box of Sjökullen. Sweden’s third largest gold treasure was found here during archaeological excavations, but the city’s real gems are on the house walls in the form of urban art. Several murals were created especially during the TROLLHÄTTAN STREETART FESTIVAL, which was held on the occasion of the city’s 100th anniversary in 2016.

SWEDEN: Streetart Södertälje – Hall of Fame at the harbour of Västergård

Södertälje is a Swedish city with approximately 70,000 inhabitants in the historic province of Södermanland southwest of Stockholm. A fantastic Hall of Fame is located at Södertälje Hamn in the harbour neighborhood of Västergård with countless great works of art. Especially impressive are the mystical murals of animals and apocalyptic scenarios by artist and tattooist TOMAS SUNDERSTRAND.
