POLAND: Streetart Rzeszów – Center of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship

Rzeszów is the largest city in southeastern Poland and the capital of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The municipality forms the economic, academic, cultural and recreational center in this part of the country with a high number of interesting annual events, such as “The European Stadium of Culture”, the  “Urban Space Festival” or the “Break Out Days”. During such events also many fantastic works of art get created in the urban space, from smaller works to huge murals.

GERMANY: Streetart Biberach an der Riß – Graffiti Collection and Urban Art Archive

Biberach an der Riß is a town in northern Upper Swabia with a population of about 34,000 inhabitants. The picturesque region is known for its impressive, historic monasteries, churches and chapels, so Biberach also has an interesting ancient old town. The landmarks of the city are the Ulm Gate, the White Tower or the Gigel Tower. But in the meantime there are also some urban artworks that count as famous landmarks and especially the group JUGEND AKTIV has set up several great projects.

LITHUANIA: Vilnius Open Gallery – Menų Fabrikas Loftas – The Murals Factory Land

If you go to Vilnius and you like huge fantastic murals, you have to visit the OPEN GALLERY at the Menų Fabrikas Loftas in the quarter Naujamiestis. This space is a fantastic streetart paradise which is open all around the clock. It is a little industrial quarter, just a small block between some streets with several factories, but over the years a great collection of creations from national and international artists developed. ROMANIA: Emil Banciu’s Onlinelibrary BANAT MEDIA and the FISART RETROSPECTIVE – Corina Nani & Sergio Morariu Bordan

Emil Banciu’s online library Banat Media offers virtual portraits of artists, exhibitions and art events in Romania. One book in particular caught our interest, the retrospective work on the great urban art festival FISART, which took place in Timisoara from 2011 to 2020 and attracted countless artists from all over the world. The YAAM or “Young African Art Market” was founded in 1994 and is run by the non profit organization “KULT – Verein für Jugendkultur e.V.”. The focus is on the Afro-Caribbean culture. The multicultural backgrounds of the contributors  and friends are reflected in the music, sports program and food stalls as well as the art and atmosphere of the premises. It is a social place where the most diverse people have the opportunity to meet, express themselves artistically, work and celebrate together. VIETNAM: Nam Jam 2023 – Ngu Hanh Son – Đà Nẵng Graffiti & Mural Festival

The first ever street art and graffiti festival in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam, the NAM JAM is a celebration of creativity and community. The event, organized by local gallery and art collective NOT POP, transformed the village of Ngu Hanh Son in Đà Nẵng City early this year in spectacular style. In March 2023, the city hosted hot local and international street art talents with a variety of events, including live paintings, a skate jam, a gallery show and a well timed coincidental hip hop dance jam as part of the RF JAM a.k.a. RADIKAL FORZE JAM.

CANADA: Streetart Montréal – BREAKING WALLS 2023 – Graffiti Jam & Urban Art Festival

From 23rd till 25th June in 2023 the first  BREAKING WALLS jam took place in the streets of the Montréal district Hochelaga Maisonneuve. This non-profit urban arts and culture festival was organized by KOLORS, who are dedicated to empowering at-risk youth all over the globe through a variety of urban art therapy workshops and mural projects. The event also was supported by NBQ and STAY TRUE with equipment and paint. Here are the several artworks from the spray sessions, hopefully many more are going to come on following jam editions.

FINLAND: Streetart Tampere – Hiedanranta Art Space – Spraycankontrol & Meeting Of Styles at the old Katutaso Kauppa factory

Hiedanranta is an old factory area west of Tampere and a real oasis of urban art. Countless great works can be found on the walls and huge murals on the old warehouse buildings. In 2018 the event SPRAYCANKONTROL took place in combination with the legendary jam series MEETING OF STYLES and some works from this event are still there, but of course new graffiti are also being created regularly.
