The Milchsackfabrik in the Gutleutviertel district traces its origins to the former printing ink factory of Dr. Carl Milchsack. The company produced printing inks on the site until it ceased operations in 1999. As early as the mid-1990s, Peter Peters, a grandson of the company’s founder, began renting out individual spaces to artists. Gradually, the former factory site evolved into a cultural hub featuring studios, theater, music, and events. Of course the whole area is covered with graffiti, characters and urban artworks.
