Here we have a collection of streetart pieces from the Thamel district in Kathmandu. These include graphic murals, characters, and calligraphy, which is often found here in beautiful, intricate detail. Traditional wall paintings depicting gods and cultural themes are also a common sight in the alleys, and schools and kindergartens frequently feature painted facades. Especially the unfortunately now defunct collective ART LAB carried out several projects here, as did a number of foreign artists passing through. Also the SATTYA MEDIA ARTS COLLECTIVE created one of its works here as part of the KOLOR KATHMANDU project.
