SRI LANKA: Streetart Negombo – Kudapaduwa District – Urban Art Collection

Negombo is a town with around 140,000 inhabitants on the west coast of Sri Lanka and is located like a suburb to the north of the capital Colombo. A smaller coty with relaxed beaches and daily fishing life. Ideal for starting a trip if you don’t want to head straight into the hustle and bustle of the big metropolis. Here we have a collection of urban art from the neighbourhood Kudapaduwa which is located in the north of this fishermen town.

CROATIA: Streetart Rijeka – Kvarner Bay Graffiti at the Gateway to the Islands

Rijeka is a Croatian port city with around 108,000 inhabitants on the Kvarner Bay in the northern Adriatic. It is considered the gateway to Croatia’s islands and was the European Capital of Culture in 2020. Worth seeing are the Korzo promenade with its historic buildings from the Habsburg era, the Ivan Zajc National Theater from the 19th century and the Trsat castle complex. Of course, there are also interesting wall paintings, graffiti and large murals in the city.

GERMANY: Streetart Bremen – Stephanikirchenweide 19 – HIDDEN TREASURE Urban Art Festival – 2024 Edition

The HIDDEN TREASURE in Bremen is the world’s first black light urban art festival. The artists work together according to predetermined color concepts, using only black and six blacklight colors. Today we present you the photos from the 2024 edition which took place from 2nd till 4th of August at the Alte Werft at Stephanikirchenweide 19. Around 70 national and international artists came to spray and this time the motto was “3D Odyssee”, because the works of art were not only bathed in black light, but 3D glasses were also available for purchase on the site, which catapulted the murals into 3-dimensional space!

CYPRUS: Streetart Ayia Napa – Graffiti Garages – House of Youth and Cultural Ensembles

The large parking garage at Archibishop Makarios III Street number 15 near the Ayia Napa city center has served as a spray-painting site for many years and is home to some great graffiti. Especially during the many events of the Ayia Napa Street Art Festival, interesting works of art have been created here time and again. On September 9th in 2023, part of the building was inaugurated by the municipality as the „House of Youth and Cultural Ensembles“ and has since officially been a meeting place for creative projects with children and young people.

At the building at Višnji?eva 10 there is a small concrete forecourt with a few benches. Overall, everything is paved over. That’s why a few artists thought about freshening up the color of this square and the surrounding walls in 2018. CHILE: Fantastic Artist GUZTOK – Creative Graffiti, Abstract Characters and Tattooism

The great artist GUZTOK was born and raised near Villa Francia in Estación Central, which is part of the region around Santiago de Chile. Since he was a child, GUZTOK was drawn to the political murals and graffiti near his house. He started spraying himself, first letters, later on also with figurative styles and characters. A former distillery in the Berlin district Reinickendorf is turning into a campus for arts, culture, food, technology and sustainability. The site of the disused Monopol factory is being converted into a cultural venue and various creative companies and artists have now settled there in order to develop a creative location. ROMANIA: Streetart Slatina – Munetenian Urban Art at the Olt River – School Spray Days

Slatina is located in southern Romania on the eastern bank of the River Olt, which flows from the Carpathians further south into the Danube. The town, which was first mentioned in a document in 1368, is part of the historic Muntenia region, has a population of around 79,000 and is an important industrial center. Naturally graffiti can also be found here, especially the local schools organize painting events and jams.

Along the tracks of Verona Porta Nuova station on Stradone Santa Lucia street, there is a huge graffiti wall almost a kilometer long with numerous fantastic works that change again and again. The fantastic TOP 2 BOTTOM graffiti jam organized by the ASSOCIAZIONE STREET SCALIGERA has also been held here in 2019 and 2023, where countless artists came together for a memorial day in honor of the artist NAPE, who died in 2018, and dedicate several works to him. PIERO SPADAROTTO aka NAPE lived from 4th August 1980 to 6th September 2018 and was one of the most important graffiti writers in Verona.
