This historic site, emblematic of the human rights struggle, is located in what is now the Nueva Las Condes financial district. During the administration of Salvador Allende, the Villa San Luis housing complex was built on the grounds of the former San Luis estate. In the 1990s, most of the land was sold to private real estate developers, and meanwhile the housing blocks were demolished to make way for the construction of office towers, leaving behind only two completely abandoned blocks, with graffiti, stencil and tags covered every floor, staircase, and wall.
