POLAND: Streetart Białystok – Fabulous Murals in the Podlaskie Voivodeship

Białystok is the capital and only major metropolis of the Polish Podlaskie Voivodeship. Throughout its history it has been a multilingual and culturally diverse city, as evidenced by the bright and colorful urban art on the walls of the houses that combine modern techniques with historical memories. GERMANY: Streetart Berlin – Minimalistix Gallery – OPENING Exhibition

As the name suggests, the MINIMALISTIX GALLERY & COFFEE run by owner CENGIZ TATAR offers creative art and tasty coffee, but also everyday useful things. This new wonderful free mind space opened its doors on 10th of February 2022 with a great starting event in Bülow Street 11 in the Berlin district Schöneberg. Till 26th of February the gallery is open from 7 till 9 pm and the exhibition organized by GOMEZ and PETRA BRANKE aka MERLIN 007 will end on Saturday with a finissage. The other artists involved were JPS, PZY, MR SASA, BUBBLES,  CASE,  HOMBRE LOPEZ, FEFE, IMED ART, ANDRÉ KROMMER and HARALD HASSI.

CANADA: Artist Maxilie Martel – MONO SOURCIL – Lovely Monster Murals and Diverse Character Universe

The fantastic artist MAXILIE MARTEL aka MONO SOURCIL from Montreal embellishes huge walls and facades in urban areas with her colorful and comiclike murals filled with weird and funny-scary characters. She started with small stickers and initially drew mainly business people in stress mode. At some point the figures became more and more oblique, the works of art bigger and bigger. Still her trademark is the “uni-brow”, which appears continously on her artworks and also reflects the meaning of the name. Mono Sourcil means uni-brow.

GERMANY: Frankfurt Graffiti Jam DD12 – Das Dreckige Dutzend – The Dirty Dozen – Event Archive

The jam series “Das Dreckige Dutzend” or in English “The Dirty Dozen” is a regular graffiti and hip hop event which the artist Niclas Hatwig aka AMBER brought to life in 2017. As the title suggests, initially 12 participants were planned to design a bridge wall near Frankfurt’s Westbahnhof, but meanwhile more than 50 sprayers are involved in these spectacles. Once or twice a year, large walls are redesigned in collaboration and the jam is accompanied by hip hop acts, breakdance and DJ music. Check out the huge archive from the the last events!

PARAGUAY: Asunción – The greenest capital in the world

Asunción is the capital city of Paraguay and is located on the western shore of the Río Paraguay, on the bay of Asunción. The city impresses with the architecture in the colonial style, including the turmoil of the streets and the whole in a somewhat run-down but very friendly and summery inviting area. Asunción has a good 550,000 inhabitants, in the metropolitan area it should be at the 1.9 million. That’s quite a lot, considering that the country has only 6.7 million inhabitants. And it is just green everywhere in all colors.

ECUADOR: Streetart Cuenca – Collection & Map – Urban Artworks of the Azuay Province

Cuenca was founded on April 12, 1557 as ‘Santa Ana de los Cuatro Ríos de Cuenca’ by the Governor and Captain General of Quito Gil Ramírez Dávalos. With around half a million inhabitants, it is the third largest city in Ecuador and the capital of the province of Azuay. It is located south of Quito in an Andean highland basin at an altitude around 2600 meters with the Río Tomebamba flowing through the city. Of course there are numerous great works of art in the urban space, many with influences from the art, tradition and culture of the indigenous cultures mixed with elements of today’s modernity.
