GERMANY: Stencil Streetart at its Best – TONA

You can find the small to large children figures made by stencil artist TONA meanwhile all around the globe on house walls and corners. Again and again the sprayed faces in somtimes simple as well in odd and bizarre places surprise and refresh the street image. The sprayer and stencil artist from Hamburg began graffiti art early on, but then focused more and more on stencil work. Whether on screenprint, on stickers or even on the wall in an urban space, TONA decorates his surroundings and, when travelling, the surroundings of others with small interesting brighteners and artistic delicacies. All you have to do is keep your eyes open as you walk through the city.

CHILE: Salvador J. Seda – Historian Streetart Hunter and GraffitiPreBicentenario

When you look on the photographs and the way how Salvador Seda presents and documents his fantastic findings you probably will get quite often the word historian in mind. He definitely is an ambitious street art hunter and as well a wonderful history lover with an excited focus and patient eye for the little details. Salvador is a searcher for the specialties what urban life can offer, gives impulses and tries as well to teach a little bit about the background of wall paintings in the city. At the moment he is building up the Streetart Map of Angol in Chile.

GERMANY: Frank Hofmann – Informer, Stencil Artist and Graffiti Hunter

The innovative traveller, culture seeker and streetart hunter Frank Hofmann contributes regularly to the Vagabundler archive lots of fantastic graffiti images and interesting articles about impressive places. The graffiti seeker is currently filling the Hamburg Streetart Map with beautiful photo material! A big thank you also to Janine Lemke and Dirk Wesenberg for their contribution of heaps of photo footage! The Streetart Map Hamburg has meanwhile 850 spots divided into 12 categories with more than 4000 photos.

FRANCE: Le Gurp – Bunker Graffiti on the Atlantic coast

These photos were taken in Le Gurp in the south of France. Artful colours decorate the remains of the bunkers and former fortifications on the Atlantic coast, which are sinking more and more into the sand. Every year, sprayers and artists come from the neighbouring villages and from Angouleme, one of the strongholds of graffiti art in France. The redecorated bunkers shown are located in the bay of Le Gurp, the nearest place by the sea is Montalivet in the south.

MALTA: Streetart Exiles Beach – Promenade Graff Ground

In the main article we have already reported in detail about the Streetart Festival Malta. The website of the last event in 2015 has been preserved as a reminder and is certainly worth a look. It all started in 2013 as the Sliema Streetart Festival in the district of the same name. The Maltese crew of ADD MORE COLORS have combined all kinds of underground styles, from graffiti to tattoo, to handmade market or integrated comic convention, and in addition, artists from all over the world came to visit Malta.

MALTA: Msida Spray Area – Southern Gateway

If you climb the small hill to Msida from the south of the promenade of G?ira, you will probably reach the area via this entrance. The tunnel and the walls around it are decorated with graffiti letters and characters. Here, the works also change regularly. When we have been there in August 2020, Skeletor and Orko were waiting for us!

NETHERLANDS: NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam – Industrial Murals and Shipyard Graffiti

NDSM is the short form for “Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij” and this Dutch shipbuilding company existed from 1946 to 1978 in Amsterdam. Part of the old buildings and factory halls are meanwhile reused by other firms from the shipping field, but as well from cultural actors and alternative artists. The huge walls of the complex are peppered with magnificent graffiti masterpieces and regularly there are fabulous events.

ITALY: Orgosolo’s wonderful Picasso-like and protest-laden Murales

In the mountains of Sardinia is the small picturesque village of Orgosolo. And it is indeed picturesque that it resembles a small art gallery. The streets and houses are completely decorated with fascinating wall paintings, with the so-called “Murales”. The works are often interspersed with the content of the protest or with paroles and slogans, the motifs also often show political or historically important scenes. But of course there are also a lot of other themes and motifs involved and time by time some new artwork is getting added.

MALTA: Msida Spray Area – Western Gateway

The access from the west side to the Msida Graffiti Zone also leads directly into the middle of the skatepark area. You reach the skating playground from the west, but quite close to the middle of the square by a corridor. The effect is really cool to walk through. If you have enough time, you should walk through all those entering tunnels and underpassing gateways. After a while walking around this small oasis in the middle of the highway stretches, you have the feeling of being in a colourful and wide-branched labirinth while the continously there is the highway noise of hundreds of cars in the background. City Life!

GERMANY: Fabulous CESAR ONE and the STONED NOMADS CREW – SNC

Krusty the Clown and Fred Flintstone, Garfield or Bugs Bunny. If you discover such characters individually or integrated into larger wall paintings, then this probably indicates the workings of the STONED NOMADS CREW, short SNC and in particular the crew member CESAR ONE. And this article here is exactly about this creative artist. CESAR ONE founded the SNC in 1999 with the  KRIZLA. Together with MIND21, SPASM, KOMA and other homies and supporters they form the team. For more than 20 years the crew has been increasingly supplying class material in the Rhine-Main-Area in Germany but also all around the globe. Check out the interview.
