MALTA: Msida Skate Park – Pool and Ramp Area

The area of the Msida Skate Park is relatively large and equipped with a variety of ramps, quarters and other skater toys. In the eastern part there is even a small pool. For skaters the visit is all the more worthwhile, here you can get excited. But this place is also a treat for graffiti fans and streetart friends! Not only is the skate park painted from top to bottom, but of course also any adjacent walls. But also all the entrances, tunnels and stairways. Just everything! It’s wonderful! Here’s really a lot of damn good art to find!

He is probably the artist of the moment in the stencil sector and by doing freak out art at random suprising places which is just making you think about issues and art also. And this went worldwide and the guy is keep on doing. Very nice!. Even in Corona times, he shoots really good stuff! Everyone knows him, but they don’t know him. Confusing, isn’t it? Such a short drumroll. None other than „BANKSY”. There was a great exhibition about his atworks in Antwerp at the same time while we have been around and we actually really found it! That was worth two Brouwer’s beers in a row! We just saw it by accident, it is cool, but we don´t have time to do it later, so means we have to do it now! It was defilitely worth it!

ISRAEL: Zeev Engelmayer – Transformation into a Super Heroine – Becoming Shoshke

This is the story of Shoshke. A super heroine brought to life. And it’s probably one of the weirdest and funniest but above all most motivating stories here on this channel so far. The creator himself, namely the Israeli artist Zeev Engelmayer repeatedly takes on the role of his self-designed comic super heroine. Then he just becomes Shoshke in a special costume. An idea for an artistic performance has developed into an unbridled dynamic of its own and an independent character within Zeev’s psyche. That´s Shoshke. It´s not schizophrenic, more like a symbiosis. Zeev loves it and he frequently is setting her free. Because Shoshke makes always and every few days crazy but fabulous actions. Currently, according to Marker Magazine “She” is one of the 100 most influential people in Israel. And we need some more Shoshkes on this world! She fights for the good and important things. Take some time for this article. It’s going to be strange and complex, but for sure as well funny and super interesting.

MALTA: Streetart Malta – Conservative in ochre, but studded with small Diamonds

Malta was initially a disappointment when it comes to street art. Everywhere only the color ochre and ochre and again ochre on these strange conservative stones. But in between, and often half-hidden, there are still small oases of urban art. Some of these creative spaces have been generated by the fantastic crew of ADD MORE COLORS during the few utterly legendary MALTA STREETART FESTIVALS, while another important spot is certainly the colorful and famouse MSIDA SKATE PARK, of which the MSA MALTA SKATEBOARD ASSOCIATION is taking care of. But we found even more super awesome and also less awesome stuff. Especially the great local artists COOKER, JUSTINK’S AND MURALS or TWITCH should be mentioned here. They are talented productive and heartful busy all over the island by bringing diversity on this rock. Or let´s say multiple rocks. There are some more islands. And yes, we have also streetart footage even from the island Gozo! Check out the huge gallery with around 1000 photos and numerous sub-articles.

MALTA: Duck Village – Ornate Bird Refuge

Manoel Island in the bay of Gżira is not the highlight of the city, but worth a visit for a short walk. There is a small fort, a bathing spot popular with locals and otherwise closed ruins or construction sites. The excursion was really nothing special and in absolutely hot heat we also missed the bathing spot. For a short inbetween visit you can pass by the spot, but you should not necessarily do this at noon time because there´s no shade at all. But you will get a nice view of Valletta and Sliema over the water. In addition shortly after the bridge to the island, there is the lovingly and creatively assembled Duck’s Village, which now houses not only ducks, but many other bird species and even hares and guinea pigs. Just like the motto: All Animals in Harmony.

PORTUGAL: Streetart Porto – International Flair and Portuguese Graffiti

Of course, a city with so much quality also needs a street art scene of the extra class. That’s what Porto can do. The decaying charm of some buildings contributes very well to highlighting the art even more. Many local artists, painters and graphic artists are at work here. But international artists also have spots in the heart of Porto. In addition to the azulejos, which are already great art in themselves, the open-air galleries expand and open up the cultural horizon of the city.
