The PIER 2 art quarter in Kaohsiung is not only famous for its large-scale streetart murals, there are also numerous sculptures, monuments and installations. In addition to individual events such as the FORMOSA SCULPTURE BIENNIAL, a big regualr event is the KAOHSIUNG INTERNATIONAL STEEL & IRON SCULPTURE FESTIVAL, or KISISF for short, which has been held every two years since 2002 and is officially organized by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs of the Kaohsiung City Government.
