The elevated bunker at Welfenplatz is a legally designated graffiti site and has been opened to the public for graffiti, offering artists the opportunity to create their work on the walls without prior permission. The building complex dates back to 1940 and was originally built as an air-raid shelter during World War II. Today, in addition to its use as a graffiti site, it also serves as a release station for bats. The “Bunker” features very high facades and at foot level there is a base that protrudes approximately 30 cm, which runs almost continuously around the structure. The GRAFFITI-NETZ HANNOVER organizes and operates the space. Here is a collection of pieces from over the years.
