The hall stands in the shadow of the Ihme Hall in the Hannover district Linden, which was and is the venue place for many “Urban Nature Festivals“. The Rethen Hall is not that much frequented. Good and noteworthy pieces can therefore remain here for months at a time. Since 2023 fortunately the quality of the works has steadily increased. This is possibly a consequence of the loss of many areas of the Ihme-Hall, which gets increasingly “blocked” by tents of homeless people, so that some writers have moved to the south-east of Hannover.
SHORT INFO: Small legal hall below the B443 federal road, which bridges an area of former gravel pit ponds. Those changed meanwhile to floodplain landscapes. The area consists of 12 concrete pillars, each about 6 meters wide and between 1.90 and 2.20 meters high, mostly trapezoidal and accessible from both sides. These areas are open to everybody for creativity. There are also 2 concrete embankment heads on the bridge, each about 14 meters wide and 2 meters high, but these are not approved for graffiti! In total, the legal areas consist of 24 individual areas measuring 6 x 2 meters on average, as well as 2 areas measuring approximately 14 x 2 meters. There are a total of 172 linear meters of open space where painting is legal.
