The hip-hop cultural center COMBO at Haid-und-Neu-Straße 165 in the Hagsfeld district was founded in April 2005 by the mobile youth work of the city of Karlsruhe together with the FARBSCHALL association aka TEAM COMBO. Since then, the place has been a focal point for graffiti, hip hop and breakdancing and hosts a constantly changing outdoor gallery with awesome urban art.
The creative art oasis offers young musicians, DJs, dancers, artists and lyricists space to develop and organizes a comprehensive support program with lessons, workshops, open graffiti sessions and joint training rehearsals. Dance events with a focus on breakdancing, music events with a focus on rap and DJing and graffiti jams on the large walls on the premises take place regularly.
The basic idea of the cultural center is to give young people the opportunity to develop and they can use the building and grounds for their ambitions without restriction. This also includes taking responsibility for the successful operation of the cultural center and passing on knowledge and skills to future generations. Each one teach one!
The association FARBSCHALL or TEAM COMBO, which runs the COMBO cultural center, was founded in 2001 by active artists from the scene, social workers and representatives of the press to promote hip-hop culture. Ukraine meets Karlsruhe – Collaboration Projekt
