GERMANY: Exhibition Berlin – Skateboard Museum, FKKB & Hotel Berlin – WALLRIDE & OUT OF THE BOX

Berlin is well known for its skateboard scene and is also home to the artist and skateboarder CHRISTIAN ROTHENHAGEN aka DEER BLN and the artist PISA 73 – the initiators of the ‘SISSI‘ skateboard club. In cooperation with the curator JÜRGEN BLÜMLEIN from the SKATEBOARD MUSEUM and the FKKB they curated the exhibitions OUT OF THE BOX and WALLRIDE at the Hotel Berlin from 18th April till 17th May with a huge variety of colorfully designed skateboards and a historical photo show.

ITALY: Milan & Venice – Hip Hop Project since 1997 and Graffiti Artist SAT – Arcano2 Magazine

The Arcano2 Magazine is a great publication from Milan and Venice that has been providing photos, reports and interviews from the world of hip hop and everything that goes with it. At regular intervals since 1997 they give an fantastic insight to graffiti, breakdancing and rapping especially from Northern Italy, but also from all around the globe. Initially launched as Arcano Revue and with the first volume in black and white, 12 issues have now been published, meanwhile each with 218 pages and 6 posters in glossy and color. We spoke with crew member SAT about the history of Arcano2 and his own development as a graffiti artist and MC.

SRI LANKA: Negombo Lagoon & Monkey Island – Fishermen Town Boat Journey

The Negombo lagoon is a beautiful place worth visiting to get to know nature and the life of the inhabitants. It provides the town with a special triangle between land, salt water and fresh water. CYPRUS: Streetart Limassol – Abandoned SODAP Wine Factory – Urbex & Lost Place Graffiti

In the west of Limassol near the old harbor is the abandoned wine factory “Synergatikos Organismos Diathesis Ambelourgikon Proionton” or SODAP for short. The industrial complex was built in 1947 and produced wine and the traditional Cypriot pomace brandy Zivania for many years. Meanwhile the 38,827 square meter site is an ideal location for urban art and the huge halls provide a lot of space from the outside, but also offer a special mystical and unique atmosphere inside.

SWEDEN: Streetart Kungälv – Urban Art in wooden Old Town and Artscape Visit

Kungälv is a small town in the province of Västra Götalands län and Bohuslän with around 22,000 inhabitants. In addition to the modern town center, there is a historic fortress with an idyllic old town of wooden buildings on Gamla Torget, the old market square. In 2019, the ARTSCAPE collective also came to the city and created great murals with various artists as part of the ARTSCAPE SAGA. There are as well interesting statues, ancient monuments and modern installations in the area.

THAILAND: Streetart Bangkok – Khlong Saen Saep – Graffiti at the longes Canal in the Country

Khlong Saen Saep is a canal in central Thailand that provides a water connection from the Mae Nam Chao Phraya River to Prachin Buri and Chachoengsao, making it the longest canal in Thailand. It runs partly through the urban area of Bangkok and countless pieces of graffiti are regularly created along the walls. There are also beautiful large murals and wall paintings on the buildings along the water.

GERMANY: Streetart Celle – CD Kaserne and Blaues Haus – Colorful Alternative Art Space

The CD KASERNE is one of the largest youth and event centers in northern Germany and a place of creative happeninigs, of course with graffiti on the facades. The gGmbH behind this space is a municipal and non-profit organization of the city of Celle. With 20 full-time employees and up to 50 freelancers, they are responsible for the administration and operation of the numerous venues. Check out the great artworks at this creative oasis!

TURKEY: Streetart Istanbul – Kad?köy – ?clal Karabekir Graffiti Wall – Urban Art Gallery

In the Kad?köy district of Istanbul on the southern part of the city you can find a long urban art wall at ?clal Karabekir Street, which is located between the Erenköy and Suadiye train station. Along that road there are several artworks, but especially around the crossing with Açelya Street is a real spray hot spot with magnificent creations. The area gets frequently visited and decorated by several local artists but also from abroad. The exact location of the artworks is on ?clal Karabekir around house number 11.

USA: Biltmore Train Writing – Urban art at the Tracks – Fantastic Yard Graffiti

This place is not a real train yard, it is more of a stabling point for trains that are parked here for longer periods of time. Naturally a perfect surface for graffiti. New trains keep arriving and departing. Over time, they are decorated with new graffiti. The area is located at the outskirts of the historic Biltmore Village close to Asheville within a short distance to the River Arts District. There is an elongated set of train compartments stretching about 200 meters.

Today we introduce you to a fantastically talented and motivated young artist from Nigeria. ISHAYA AYUBA has a special fable for drawing and under the artist name of BIGSHOW PENCIL ART, he creates wonderful portraits of people around him. He manages to capture the person and then put them on paper using simple instruments. It’s not just about copying the image, he also manages to express emotions and personality.
