The area around Richmond Street is just a colorful art paradise. At least it once was on a much larger scale. Many buildings have since been demolished and some of the graffiti spots unfortunately no longer exist. But several wall parts are still active and great artworks continously get created here, also in our archive you can marvel at the previous area parts and the works, even if they are gone. It is basically a narrow side street, but this longer alley is filled over and over with graffiti and is one of the hot spots in town.

In terms of infrastructure, Liberty Lane is actually just a small side street behind the houses on the main street. A small hidden alley. From an artistic perspective, however, it is simply one of the city’s main spots, full of color from top to bottom and littered with grandiose works of art. From big to small! The artworks change here continuously, after a week it can look completely different again. It’s just a fantastic little hidden open air gallery.

The exhibition DURTY DUBLIN with the subtitle „From the streets To between the sheets“ started on September 22nd 2023 and since then shows great works of awesome artists. Both, in the gallery ICON FACTORY and great graffiti and streetart made during live painting sessions on the outside facades. Inside you can find paraphernalia artworks, bric-a-brac, slap tags and stickers from around the world, paste-ups, spray-painted art pieces, black book sketches, photographs and amazing ink drawings.

Here we have a great collection of urban artworks in the city of Derry or also called Londonderry. The place is close to the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, which means riots are common. Sometimes it is more calm, sometimes more aggressive. The situation is not nearly solved and there is much tension since ages. You can find a lot of the context of the situation filled into the artworks. Awesome artists are around and try to make the walls more colorful, but as well they put in messages.

The artist collective around the Icon Factory has transformed the alleys and streets in the Tempel Bar district into attractive art venues with color and creativity. The Icon Walk runs through the district with innovative and interesting works and in Bedford Lane, just around the corner from the Icon Factory, there is a special project wall on which the artist and project member Kevin Bohan creates grandiose murals at regular intervals with changing artists. Sometimes if you don´t like what’s available, you have to create something new by yourself. This can happen in many different areas of course, in this article it will be about fashion and clothing. The Dublin designer Ashley Byrne always wanted more color, more intense styles, more creativity, but the products you can get in the average stores are just too boring, mostly unified standards, mass production and without specialty. So Ashley started to create her own fantastic cloth and built up the label called AB Design.

Kevin Bohan came to art and graffiti via detours, but better later than never. For far too long he was working in unsatisfactory jobs, he didn’t pursue what was inside him, which eventually led to many years of depression. Over the years Kevin has done countless fantastic murals in Dublin and throughout Ireland, either on his own or in collaboration with other renowned sprayers.
