ARGENTINA: Streetart Buenos Aires – Tribute to Gustavo Cerati at Avenida Francisco Beiró by Marco Heis

The highway construction in low level, “El Paso Bajo”, carried out on Francisco Beiró Avenue and the Urquiza railroad tracks in Buenos Aires, has four traffic lanes, two by hand, and a pedestrian crossing. This traffic complex was baptized Gustavo Cerati and therefore painted by artist MARCO HEIS with wonderful images of the famous singer. After a vote in which 177,594 residents participated, 68,438 chose to honor Gustavo Cerati, the late leader of Soda Stereo, while that 60,247 favored Carlitos Balá, and 48,909 did so for Julio Cortázar.

GERMANY: Streetart Berlin – Urban Art Championat at North Side Gallery – Halloween Jam 2021

Time for a Graffiti Battle with a creepy Halloween theme! On October 31st an Urban Art Championship took place at the North Side Gallery in Berlin. The event was organized by Graffiti Battle TV with great support from Loop Colors, Graffiti Lobby Berlin, Emily Strange and the shop Graffiti Box. Bee Low and History of Berlin also provided support. Fantastic works of art were created on the walls in the park at the Nordbahnhof, matching the date with styles of Halloween. This event served as a preliminary decision for the Berlin contribution to the International Graffiti Battle 2022. DEJOE was awarded 1st place, followed by TWICK in 2nd place and SKIM in 3rd place. Altogether 20 artists participated at the event.

GERMANY: Streetart Map Insel Poel – Baltic Island Art in the Bay of Wismar

The Island of Poel is located in the Wismar Bay in the Baltic Sea near the city of Wismar. In 1997 it became a state-approved resort, and since 2004 the municipality has been known as the Ostseebad. Photographer and streetart hunter Holger Peter paid a visit to the Island of Poel and found several beautiful works of art spread over the area. The small and large murals often show motifs from local nature, fishing ships and the sea. Check out the collection and the new map!

Using the bicycle path over the Vistula River in Warsaw, leading along the access roads to the Siekierkowski Bridge, or running to the bus or tram on the left-hand side of the Poniatowski Bridge, you can encounter fascinating images created by great artist ANDY BLACK. Pictures that cannot be ignored, full of emotions that everyone can read differently. Sometimes it is anger, sometimes fear or surprise. Or maybe you will see a smile there? In fact, it is up to the viewer to read these feelings. They are images that replace many words that could be used to describe them.

PORTUGAL: Madeira Island – Streetart Funchal – Colorful Doors Project – artE pORtas abErtas

Today we have some streetart for you from the eastern part of the Atlantic. Funchal is the capital of the Portuguese island of Madeira, which is about 710 km off the Moroccan coast at equator height. In the cozy city you can find smaller urban works of art and larger murals in many places, but a very special place is the Rua de Santa Maria with the adjacent streets. Artists have brought the once run-down and half-ruined district back to life with a creative and colorful project: the “Projecto artE pORtas abErtas” which means „Open Door Project“.

GERMANY: Street Art Berlin Project at Alexanderplatz – A-FENCE

A-FENCE is one of the largest streetart projects in Berlin curated by Street Art Berlin. Over a period of two years, various different artists already played and will play on the approximately 240-meter-long wall. With this construction fence, developer Covivio offers the artists an area that is used as a platform for artistic expression and interpretation of the respective topic. In January 2021 the first works from Age Age and the duo Ron Miller have been finished, later on several fantastic others followed. Here we have the great creations from Carolina Amaya, Cokyone, Dr.Molrok, Emma Rytoft, Ekaterina Koroleva, Rommy González, Kottitaube, Pekor, Rabea Senftenberg, Sr Papá Chango and the duo Zebu. CANADA: Beaming Graffiti and glowing Cartoon Characters – Fantastic artist WÜNA

Today we introduce you to an awesome artist of the spray can. She originally comes from Toulouse in France, but is now based in Montreal, Canada, and beautifies the urban walls around the city and actually the whole country. This article is about the fantastic WÜNA, her art and her projects. In WÜNA’s works of art you can always find elements from comics, funny colorful characters. The lettering is just as intense and colorful. Cartoons and comics are important components of her art, as are the refreshing colors and energy that her works of art reflect.

GERMANY: Streetart Frankfurt – Jugendhaus am Bügel – 10th Character Jam & Das Dreckige Dutzend 2021

This year ‘Das Dreckige Dutzend’ or ‘The Dirty Dozen’ were guests at the ‘Jugendhaus am Bügel’ (Youth Center) in Frankfurt. The fantastic Character Jam takes place there every year, which would have had its 10th anniversary in 2020. A good reason to celebrate, even a year later because of Corona. And so in 2021 both events took place in one great jam at the youth center, and the DD12 made the name of the Character Jam its motto for this year: ‘Focus on Characters’. In contrast to the writer-heavy DD12 events of recent years, this year all pillars of Hip Hop were covered and a jam in the style of the 90s has been offered.

FRANCE: Streetart Toulouse – Côte Pavée – „The Battle of Toulouse“ by artist SNAKE

On the occasion of the commemoration of the Battle of Toulouse, April 10, 1814, an 80-meter long fresco was created by the artist SNAKE on avenue Raymond Naves, on the very spot where General Taupin, a French general of the Revolution and the Empire, was mortally wounded. This battle has fascinated historians, as it has provoked controversial debates on both sides of the Channel. The British claim victory, as the coalition army (English, Spanish, Portuguese) commanded by Viscount Wellington finally entered Toulouse on April 12, greeted by the cheers of the royalists. Besides the pictures of this great huge creation the photographer Julien Canadas made as well a short video.
