GERMANY: Streetart Berlin – Stadtpiraten Exhibition in Lichtenberg

The STADTPIRATEN curated an exhibition in the gallery of the social fund of the Berlin construction industry which is located in the Lück Street 72 in the district Lichtenberg. The event took place from 19th March till 28th March in 2021. Here are the several fantastic creations sorted by artists. “Stadtpiraten” would mean in English “City Pirates”. During this great event visitors could admire the artworks from Anne Baerlin, Autark, Bibo, Caz.l, Coky One, Ducks Between Chucks, Gomez, Hoya, JMS, Kiezmiez, Lacuna, Niko, Opiemme, Textile Street Art, Wake Yakuza and Zonenkinder.

GERMANY: Sculptor Pit Ruge – Waldwerft, soap bubbles and pumpkin exhibitions

The sculptor Pit Ruge designs fantastic creatures and entire wonderful worlds of wood, wire and color in his open-air workshop “Waldwerft. ” For the  huge and famous pumpkin exhibitions, which have been taking place for over twenty years now throughout Germany, he and a team of artists fabricate the complete thematic scenarios including figures, which are then hung with pumpkins. The creative factory also produces works of art for countless other events, exhibitions and festivals.

The artist „Spray Paint Art JB“ creates fantastic worlds and fascinating utopias in his works. He works exclusively with spray cans, but has developed a variety of techniques. LITHUANIA: WSUP – Graffiti Shop Vilnius and SPRAY WAY CREW

Paint and colors, graffiti and graphics, these guys know everything about the perfect marker, the best spray cans and where are the wall spots in Vilnius. Actually they are selling all the equipment in their creative shop, as well they are familiar with the streets because they frequently paint themselves wonderful pieces and huge murals around the city and make their surrounding more colorful. They are convinced of what they sell; surely they are using the cans and markers themselves and know what they are talking about. LITHUANIA: Domas Mykolas – Mythological and Contemporary Sculptor

Huge balloon dinosaurs, wolf skulls or a little Trump figure with a spray can – these are some of the amazing sculptural artworks of Domas Mykolas from Vilnius. We met the creative artist while finishing one of his newest masterpieces at the remodeling spray event at Keulė Rūkė. His freshly made artwork was part of the “make empathy great again” mural at the front.  The whole group artwork is just brilliant, Domas contributed with the nice Trump statue.

ESTONIA: KaKu Gallery & Mextonia Murals

We visited this fantastic artful place even twice and each time there was something completely new about it. First there is the long streetart mural of course which you can see while just passing by. It was made during the Mextonia Festival organized by the Mexican private platform Nueve Arte Urbano and the Estonian private company Todoes uno Eesti in 2017. Artists collaborated and left some awesome graffitis and color on the town walls. We did as well an interview with the Andres Mesner, the ownder of the inside existing art gallery called “Kalaranna Kultuurikuur” or in short form just „KaKu“.

GERMANY: Alexander Grauberger – ART Archiv

Being able to exhibit as an artist in a gallery or even in a museum is a long and difficult journey. Due to socio-culturally shaped exclusivities such doors are opened to a few. Through relationships, the academic career, the finances, by luck or really the absolutely outstanding talent and a lot of hard work it already works, but there are not so many galleries and exhibition venues. This is also due to the high maintenance costs, the low subsidies and the conditional demand for art objects in general.
