LAOS: Vientiane – Streetart, Characters and Abstract – Urban Art in den Capital

Vientiane is the capital of Laos, lies on the Mekong River and has a population of approximately 1.1 million. Founded in the 13th century, the city developed into an important commercial and administrative center under the Lan Xang Kingdom. Today, Vientiane is known for its Buddhist temples, such as Pha That Luang, which is considered a national symbol, as well as for its colonial architecture and Laotian tradition. Of course, you’ll also find urban art in the streets, especially in the neighborhoods around the Mekong and near the universities.
