CHILE: Urban Art Angol – DYRE’s Graffiti Workshop at John Kennedy – Taller de Graffiti

This large mural wall with lots of graffiti is the result of a workshop for youth and children that DYRE devised a year ago in the Chilenean city of Angol. The great local artist managed and obtained sponsorship and materials for the students of the workshop, in addition to also directing the theoretical and practical classes for five days. BELIZE: City of Chan Chen – Bordertown Streetlife – Bienvenidos a Belize!

In between a little photo gallery about the city of Chan Chen where you can cross the frontier from México to Belize. The small border town with just around 700 residents is located in the Corozal District and consists mainly of indigenous inhabitants who speak Yucatecan Maya. The name „Chan Chen“ origins from the Mayathan language and means „small spring“ in English.

GERMANY: Urban Art Bochum – Universitätsstraße Wiemelhausen – Kings Wall

Today we show you some masterpieces from Bochum from the „Kings Wall“ at the Universitätsstraße. In autumn 2021 the retaining wall on Universitätsstraße got a new look and 28 graffiti artists were involved in the redesign. About 20 years ago the wall was primarly decorated with large-scale graffiti. Over time, the colors faded and the effect of beautifying the urban space threatened to tip into the opposite due to neglect. To counteract this, the approximately 1,000 square meter area was redesigned with a fantastic colaboration mural project last year. Check out the photos from the magnificent results.

You must arrive across a majestic bridge and it should have a Las Vegas style Casino. That is how Victoria looks like. Victoria is an Argentinean city, on the east coast, one of the most important one of all Entre Ríos province. It has limited by a streams network that flows to the Paraná River. Victoria is also known as the “City of Seven Hills”, the whole city is settled on one of them.

When you look on the fantastic paintings of SKULL ART TAKA you have to think of Alien, Giger and dark apocalyptic worlds. Of monsters that don’t scare you in the end, because they look so damn fascinating. The artist, also called TAKANORI is a master of this design, a visual genius for creatures and he is especially into the skulls. There are numerous other types of themes in the artworks, but the main topic was and is always the skull.

CYPRUS: Nicosia – Ethnological Museum – House of Hadjigeorgakis Kornesiso

The House of Hadjigeorgakis Kornesisois is located at Patriarchou Grigoriou 20 near the Archbishopric in the neighbourhood of Saint Antonios. It was the area where the rich Greek used to live and the mansion is the most important example of urban architecture of the last century of Ottoman rule that survived in old Nicosia. It is quite interesting and worth a visit, the entrance is free.

GERMANY: Graffiti & Streetart Berlin – October Jam at North Side Gallery – URBAN ART FOR A BETTER WORLD

On the 6th, 8th and 9th of October 2022 another great jam took place at the North Side Gallery with more than 50 fantastic creators taking part. Local and international urban artists redesigned the walls of the North Side Gallery with the theme “Urban Art for a Better World“. For the protection of the environment, freedom of speech, a life without violence and war, a humanistic attitude and respect for the dignity of each individual!
