CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Laurent Gascon’s fabulous Mosaic Series – Canada’s Finest

In his art LAURENT GASCON has managed to combine the two areas of ceramics and urban art and creates urban ceramic art or street mosaics, so to speak. He did his first objects in the Dominican Republic in 2000, the first mosaic mural in Montréal was done in 2009. During the years many special artworks dedicated to famous Canadian icons from the art and culture scene like singers, actors, writers or humorists followed. Our visit was just awesome! Thanks a lot to crazy and surprisefull taxi drivers, to fantastic cheese cake bakers, to great stand up comedians and definitely for sure thanks a lot for cinema pass out places when they are needed! Sorry for the snorring! ? But the Lincoln movie is quite a long one and even without  the New York nightlife we would have fallen asleep in those cozy cinema seats. Edgar Lituma Soto has traveled to all corners of the world. Tracing a path through colorful alleyways in South America to the swarming, vibrant markets of southeast Asia, his art is an intricate blend of multicultural influences and the visions of the hazy dreamworld between sleep and consciousness. The uniquely artistic member of his native Ecuadorian Sucua family is now a graphic designer and animator by trade, though his downtime is full of creative endeavors—the products of a passion for self-expression. His work has appeared in local galleries, pop-up shows and in mural form. Despite a severe case of chronic wanderlust, Soto calls Atlanta home at the moment.

I followed the photos of this fascinating artist lady on Instagram or Facebook for quite a while and always I thought those pictures are just damn cool, also very weird and often like from another world. The actress and creator of these scenarios with super stylish portraits is Dulce Ramirez. She currently lives in Heilbronn in Germany, but is actually from Mexico City. When she left her country about ten years ago, she did not only bring the cultural memory of the “Dia de los Muertos”, that means the “Day of the Dead”, but she also incorporated this theme into her art projects out of missing her home and from these first sparks of artistic development she designed a complete fashion queen of another kind. Namely herself: Mujer Gato. She’s weird, dark, interesting, different.

USA: Marc Kennedy – Musician and Freak Out Collagist

I stumbled over this fantastic and in multiple fields active artist because of his funny and crazy collages. Seeing them over and over, these odd and stupid characters made me just laugh and these artworks became like a little comic strip series. Marc Kennedy did these visual objects by cutting, preparing and replacing photos while he had a little break from recording a row of his songs. He published as well a book and is producing cool t-shirts, but mainly he is a musician.

Art is interesting, can be a medicine which is working therapeutically on inner emotions and finally doing art possibly becomes a deep passion while expressing yourself. The painter, photographer and writer Charles Samuel Wait started painting around 2010 basically to cope with life struggles. After becoming a hobby the art is now part of his life and developing his bright way. Meanwhile the enthusiastic artist creates amazing works with drag art techniques, he is a nature photographer and published as well the book “A Venture Into”.
