If you like it quiet and tranquil, you are in the right place in Zandvoort. About 30 minutes by train from the vibrant centre of Amsterdam, the coastal town invites you to relax and unwind. If city life is too stressful and hectic, you can stop here. Especially in the summer is busy here. This is on the one hand on the long sandy beach, which is located along the town with only approx. 17,000 inhabitants. On the other hand, almost half of all inhabitants live from tourism.

At the beginning of the year, the artist Tamir Shefer from Tel Aviv visited Frankfurt for the fantastic exhibition „Echos” at the Kunstverein Familie Montez. Works by him and nine other artists were shown, five of them from Israel, five from Germany. Tamir paints on canvases but also has a special preference for streetart and large-scale wall design in urban spaces. In the gallery rooms of the exhibition, he even painted some works directly and freshly on the interior façade. Of course we interviewed the creative artist!

The district of Tøyen is multi-culturally populated, less prosperous and characterised by a lively neighbourhood. Tøyen offers beautiful green areas such as the BOTA-NISH GARDEN and the Tøyen Park. Life prefers to take place on the streets. There are various ethnic shops, great and trendy bars, cafes and nice restaurants. It is bordered to the south by Grønland. Tøyen has many peculiarities. The district is one of the most fascinating and dynamic urban areas of Oslo. This is where the bear really steps! Tøyen should be at the top of every visitor list in Oslo. Utrecht was really fun. Besides the openness and friendliness of the people living there, there is the vibrant urban culture, the art scene and a quite interesting infrastructure. Utrecht has a lot to offer! The city perfectly combines modernity and antiquity and impresses with some old and futuristic buildings. A symbiosis of construction, architecture and street art raises Utrecht to a high quality level. The city absolutely stands for diversity, openness and connection and has a place in my heart. There are also Brouwers at the Albert Heyn. Brouwers is a fantastic beer brand with cult potential in scene circles. And a way beer for the city tour should always be in it. Drinking in public may be expensive in the Netherlands though. If the cops catch you in public, they charge 50 Euros. That’s why it’s always good to have festivals in the city to get around the problem.

Norway is a rich country where prosperity and quality of life are tangible and visible. The neighbourhood Frogner is the best example of this. Noble and sublime is the central district of Oslo. For us it was the starting point of our ventures in the city and a very good choice. In Frogner we resided and rented for seven days. This had many advantages and good reasons and this choice was really well made in retrospect. Accommodation and flights were in themselves very cheap compared to the cost of living in the city. This was probably a pure stroke of luck in the run-up to the event.

The illustrator and graphic designer Junior Tomlin from London did some of the most iconic and legendary cover artworks for the rave and electronic music scene back in the 80s and 90s up till today. On 5th of June his new book “Junior Tomlin: Flyer & Cover Art” will get released which documents across 160 premium paper pages his work with commentary and draft sketches about thirty years of party scene. Junior is of course still doing his fabulous artworks and visuals, but meanwhile he can look on a huge variety of projects in many different fields like movies or covers for the music branch, he colored comics for Marvel, DC or Panini, was involved in Action Man and Judge Dredd animations, designed vector arts, invented innovative logos and even started sculpturing.

About 230,000 people live in Groningen and about 50,000 of them are enrolled students, that´s more than 20% oft the population. The city is accordingly young, multicultural, colourful and just very much filled with a lot of life. Historically this is because Groningen has had a university since 1614. In 2014, the university celebrated its 400th birthday. Really not so bad!

Belgium is one of the most underestimated countries in Europe. Yes, it is a very small place in terms of surface area and is therefore not visually significant when you look on the map of Europe.
