SERBIA: Streetart Belgrade – Dorćol – Visokog Stevana Mural – Graffiti Jam Block – RIZLA SQUAD

This block of flats has been covered in great graffiti all around, and there is also a large-scale mural on one side. The connecting works were created during a bigger spray project by RIZLA SQUAD with an elaborate collaboration work across the facades. It filles the bottom walls of the house, but especially on the south side it goes up nearly to the summit. It’s not only that huge mural, it’s actually the whole connected pieces which go around the walls. Fantastic! Also just imagine how it must have looked before, boring same color, repetitive architecture. Then suddenly there was that colorful upgrade.

In southwest Belgrade, along Bulevar Vojvode Mišića, the tram line also runs besides the southern side, branching off at the point where the main highway merges with Radnićka highway and combines into a complex traffic junction. From the southward crossing, the tram line follows its own path, and the walls are home to some fantastic graffiti and urban art. It often happens that construction work is taking place at this route and the trams don’t operate for several days or even weeks. But this is ideal for creating larger works in this location. Check out the collection!

On the banks of the Danube in Belgrade is a former factory with monumental silos at a height of 28 meters, the so called SILOSI. The building complex is constructed like honeycombs and consists of a total of 64 cells, but work was stopped many years ago and the site has lain fallow ever since. This landmark of brutalist architecture has been given a new lease of life thanks to the GAIA POKRET movement with several creative spaces, but the highlight are certainly the large murals that have gradually been painted in the lofty heights.
