PENG in the Churchtower
An unconventional anti-rule artist who paints wherever and however he pleases, and the conservative church. Does that fit? Why not! The institution of the church is certainly very backward and conservative in its basic structures, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that individual congregations and pastors are open to new, alternative and creative ideas. This is what happened in Offenbach and a unique exhibition by fantastic PENG is taking place in the Evangelische Friedenskirche (Protestant Peace Church) from September 20th to October 25th in 2024. The whole inside walls of the old bell tower are now colorfully decorated!
The vernissage started on September 20th at 7 p.m. with a laudatory speech by the head of the church. And PENG really has completely „PENGed“ the entire inside of the church tower from top to bottom! He didn’t even stop at bicycles. During the opening there were also all kinds of creative PENG artworks available in small format on canvas, as prints or cards and interesting embellishments on various objects, such as T-shirts, skateboards or even Bembel. You can view and marvel at the extraordinary mural works in the bell tower on Sundays at 11 a.m. after the church service, on Wednesdays between 6 and 7 p.m. and on request by telephone on 0160 / 91635798.
