FRANCE: Streetart Saint Isidore – Jardiniers Tunnel – Tour de France & OGC Nice – Tribute Murals

On the occasion of the Tour de France passing through Nice in 2020, the tunnel at the Allianz Riviera soccer arena was embellished on both sides with two fantastic murals. The project was organized by the urban art association WHOLESTREET and carried out by the organizing artist OTOM together with his colleagues CESAR MALFI, DZON, KOTEK and NOVO. One side of the wall features motifs relating to cycling and the Tour de France. The other side is dedicated to the local soccer club Olympique Gymnaste Club de Nice Côte d’Azur, or OGC Nice for short.

ALBANIA: Streetart Shkodër – Graffiti and Urban Art at Lake Skadar

Shkodër or Shkodra is a city with approximately 61,000 inhabitants in northern Albania between Lake Skadar and the rivers Kir, Drin, and Buna. Many historical buildings from the Illyrians, Romans, and Ottomans bear witness to the long history of this cultural center. Worth seeing are the Rozafa Castle, the Mesi Bridge and the Ebu Bekr Mosque, as well as more modern sights such as the Venice Art Mask Factory and the Site of Witness and Memory. The first photographs of the country were taken in Shkodër, so a visit to the Marubi National Museum of Photography, is also recommended. Of course, you will also find urban art and large murals in the streets.

ITALY: Streetart Turin – San Salvario – Corso Bramante Graffiti Paradise – Highway Walls & Train Tracks

Corso Bramante is a wide, busy road that runs through Turin from the river Po in the east to Corso Unione Sovietica in the west. In the San Salvario district, at the height of Parco Muratori, the street complex runs over a large bridge over many railway lines. There is a long slope with large concrete walls on both sides, and the underpass of Via Zino Zini to the west and the underpass of Via Bartolomeo Bona to the east till its end and then the graffiti walls continue along the train track walls. The entire area is a spray oasis and full of grandiose works. Also in 2021 the great MURARTE jam took place around those walls and on several occasions WE LOVE ENAK spray sessions.

SOUTH KOREA: Haeundae Sand Festival – ABRAM WATERMAN & CHRIS GUINTO – 20th Anniversary Sculptors Meeting

The HAEUNDAE SAND FESTIVAL took place in 2025 from May 16th till 19th and was the 20th edition of this great event in the eastern coast suburb of Busan. Countless artists from all over the world transformed the beach into an art gallery with huge sculptures and several meter-high frescos. The festival was accompanied by a colorful supporting program of music, art and culture, and even after the event you could admire the sand artworks until June 8th. In two interviews we talked to the sand sculptors ABRAM WATERMAN from Canada and CHRIS GUINTO, part of the artist duo BROKEN GLASS from the USA, while they were creating their works.

GERMANY: Chemnitz – AJZ Talschock – We feed the Wall – Creative Urban Art Space

The alternative youth centre AJZ TALSCHOCK hosts a variety of creative projects and groups. It regularly organizes concerts, theatre and stage events, offers free Wi-Fi, free computer workstations, the gym „Bodyfarm,“ different workshops, a photo lab, the climbing wall „The Rock,“ the fully equipped junior band rehearsal room „Youth against Air Guitars“ and the archive of the social movements „SERO“ for research. In May 2007, the legal “Wall of Fame” graffiti areas were opened in the outdoor space and on the facades around the building, where the “We feed the Wall” jam now takes place annually.

MYANMAR: Streetart Mandalay – Anonymous Dance Skool – Alternative Performance Space & Urban Art Gallery

The ANONYMOUS DANCE SKOOL in Mandalay is not only an important place for people who want to practice the art of dancing. It is also an alternative oasis where you can be creative in general. A big respect to the organizers, especially ALONG aka D VIRUS, because they think outside the box. It’s not about traditional dance styles that are taught here, it’s modern dance, breakdancing and hip hop culture. Also the walls and facades of the building have been embellished with great graffiti and characters, in particular on the terrace where there is an awesome art gallery with portraits of hip hop legends created by the artist CLOWN.

BULGARIA / AUSTRIA: Fantastic Urban Artist VODAWOTAH – Comic Style Portraits on Mural Scale

The artist MARTIN IVANOV, better known as VODAWOTAH, started with graffiti and streetart in 2008 in the Bulgarian city of Ruse. Meanwhile he lives in Vienna, Austria, where he regularly paints magnificent works on the Danube Canal and huge murals around the city or abroad. The colorful hobby has become a profession and he creates extensive commissioned works, but of course also continues to spray as a passion funtime. His fantastic works often feature comic-style portraits, but also animal-like characters or lively spray cans.

CHILE: Streetart Angol – Manuel Jarpa Transformation – Urban Art Teamwork – GEP, KUSH & ZEN

This wall of a destroyed house in the Chilean city of Angol was probably left in this condition after the 8.8 magnitude earthquake on February 27th in 2010. Structurally, it is a ruin, but for graffiti artists, it is an interesting canvas. Over the years, the wall has changed a lot, new works have been added, and the following artists have integrated the previous pieces into its further transformation. A beautiful example of urban art development over several years.

FRANCE: Streetart Nice – Saint Roch – Saint Charles Hall – Sports Court Graffiti Wall

In the Saint Charles neighborhood, east of Boulevard Louis Braille, is the Saint Charles Primary School. Below the school grounds are additional areas for sports activities. One part is equipped with ping-pong tables, and the next has a soccer field. But much more interesting is the long concrete wall in the background, which offers a great space for graffiti and urban art.

BAHAMAS: Streetart Nassau – East Down Mural Project & National Art Gallery Urban Creations

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas, was founded in 1656 and has around 250,000 inhabitants. The old town with buildings from the British colonial era, Prince George Wharf and Forts Charlotte and Fincastle are well worth a visit. There is also plenty of urban art in the streets and the NATIONAL ART GALLERY OF THE BAHAMAS in particular has created several murals here. The EAST DOWNTOWN MURAL PROJECT by the TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION is also interesting and regularly adds new works to the cityscape.
