SOUTH KOREA: Daegu – VØID GALLERY – Exhibition Vol. 4 – Black Comics – HONG JONGGI

The great drawing artist and illustrator HONG JONGGI presents from 12nd May till 30th July 2025 a special collection of his artworks in the solo exhibition „Black Comics“ at the VØID GALLERY in Daegu. This is the 4th creative venue in this art space. If you are around the city during that time, be sure not to miss it. There are several pieces on the walls from series made during the previous years like „The Villains“ or „Motorcycle Diaries“ and also animated drawing videos are shown on projection screens.

SOUTH KOREA: Streetart Busan – Sasang-gu – Monolvgar Indoor Skate Park – Graffiti Hall of Fame

Located in the Busan district Sasang-gu is Korea’s largest skateboarding space. The huge indoor skate hall MONOLVGAR offers professional training for local skaters, product sales and consultation by the skateboard brand and association MONOPATIN, who also founded the skate park and organizes regular skate contests and cool events. The outside facades of this place are also very interesting, because they are covered with numerous graffiti and characters. You can spray here legally, it is one of the few graffiti walls in the city and a Hall of Fame.

SRI LANKA: Matara – Temple Island, Monuments and Street Life

Matara is a town in southern Sri Lanka with around 43.000 inhabitants and famous for its historic monuments. The Parewi Duwa Temple is located on a small island in front of the city and is one of the most important sights, including the interesting bridge. Matara is also home to one of the largest educational centers in the country, the University of Ruhuna, an extensive complex with various faculties.

SCULPTURE CITY SEOUL is a project being promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government since 2024 to change the entire city of Seoul into a world-class sculpture city by transforming the open spaces into a roofless art museum. It aims to enable citizens to enjoy high-quality sculpture in their daily lives, and artists to present experimental exhibitions in various spaces beyond the boundaries of museums. THAILAND: Streetart Koh Chang – Meeting of Styles 2024 – Graffiti Jam & Urban Art Festival

From April 26th to 28th in 2024, another edition of the fantastic urban art festival MEETING OF STYLES of the local Thailand Division took place on the island of Koh Chang, whose events now bring awesome graffiti actions to walls around the whole globe. More than 30 artists from all over the world came to the small island in the south-eastern part of the country and left behind great works in a wide variety of styles.

THAILAND: Streetart Chiang Rai – Bus Terminal & City Beautifications – CHAWAS CHAMPASAEN

In 2016, after the death of the popular King Bhumibol Adulyadej or Rama IX, the ninth of the Chakri Dynasty, the provincial government of Chiang Rai commissioned a group of young artists led by the painter CHAWAS CHAMPASAEN to decorate the central bus station as part of the annual Flower Festival. Besides the artworks on the terminal there are also beautiful portrait paintings and motifs of history, tradition and local landscapes around the town.

The BAAN DAM MUSEUM, also known as the BLACK HOUSE MUSEUM, is a private art museum that consists of a mixture of traditional northern Thai buildings with unconventional and contemporary Lanna architecture. The building complex was designed by local artist THAWAN DUCHANEE, who is also called „Thailand’s Emperor of the Canvas“. There are more than 40 different buildings spread across the site on an area of ??around 160.000 square meters. Fantastic artworks are presented within the buildings at permanent exhibitions and creative cultural events are held regularly.

SRI LANKA: Tattoo Pioneer KENNY ADAMS – Modern Tattoo Studios & Equipment Supplies

The creative artist KENNY ADAMS from Sri Lanka started drawing already as a child, initially with pens and brushes on paper. Time passed, he kept on painting, but meanwhile preferably on human skin. Starting out as a single tattoo artist, he has built up an entire collective and network under MODERN TATTOO, which currently consists of four studios around the country. Additionally he also runs a supply service for tattoo equipment. We spoke to the versatile artist in an interview about the tattooing, the development of his projects and his vision for Sri Lanka’s tattoo culture.

The painter and art teacher SUTIN TANTIPAS in particular has created a large number of fantastic concept walls with his ART FOR DEC project together with his students.

The small town of Nuwara Eliya with 27,000 inhabitants is located in the middle of the country in the mountainous area. The region is famous for the many tea plantations, the beautiful green nature and the relaxing Lake Gregory. While travelling along the warm beach climate on the coast, this idyllic and colder region is an pleasant contrast. And as everywhere else, of course you can also find great urban artworks here, from small pieces to larger murals.
