Goslar is a city in the Harz Mountains in Lower Saxony with a population of about 50.000. The city was first mentioned in a document in 922 and was of great importance in the Middle Ages due to silver mining on the Rammelsberg. The Old Town, including the Imperial Palace and the Rammelsberg, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Urban art can also be found in the streets; in particular, the youth service Jugendarbeit Goslar and the youth center Jugendzentrum Gleis 95 are active in creative projects on facades. There is also a graffiti hall, the Goslar Wall of Fame, located at Okerstraße 32, behind the former Schlachthof buildings and now integration facility Goslarsche Höfe. At this address, the wall runs north from the street in an easterly direction along the railroad tracks and is approximately 150 meters long. It is not an officially designated spot, but rather tolerated; however, for many years, the Jugendarbeit Goslar and local artists such as GRZNO have been trying to get its status as a legal open space with official permission to paint. Here is a collection of urban art from around the city and from the hall.
