GERMANY: Streetart Berlin – Berlin Mitte – Alexanderplatz – A-FENCE

The title of this open air exhibition called “A-FENCE” is made up of the letter “A” for Alexanderplatz and the English word for construction fence which is “fence”. It is one of the largest streetart projects in Berlin. Over a period of two years, four different artists played on the approximately 240-meter-long site fence. With this construction fence, developer Covivio offers the artist an area that is used as a platform for artistic expression and interpretation of the respective topic. This is not the first art project for Covivio. The real estate company promotes the development of artists across Europe, believing that art contributes to the identity of a place and the creation of a common space, while at the same time it stimulates exchange and creativity. The artists are accompanied by the curator, author and CEO of STREET ART BERLIN, Dr. Diana Marossek. The network platform and artist agency is the artistic partner of the A-FENCE and, as an international company with over 1000 artists, can establish the right contacts for the right art in the right place. In January 2021 the first artworks from AGE AGE and RON MILLER have been finished.

AGE AGE

The artist’s contribution: In his works of art, HANNES HÖHLIG aka AGE AGE relies on a lot of movement through connecting elements such as pipes, cables or the like. His works of art often show a mixture of graphic and abstract figures. This can also be seen here at the A-FENCE, where, on the subject of “We are Europe”, it deals with the creation of Europe as we know and love it today. Its symbolic protagonists take hurdles, celebrate successes and make discoveries. They also develop both themselves and European freedoms.  – Street Art Berlin

How the artist sees his work: “I focus on the complexities of life. I deconstruct reality into its individual parts and form a new composition of things from them. I am influenced by the mysteries of nature and the myths of past cultures. But also contemporary, even political events. My goal is to get the audience to change their perspective on a particular problem.”  –  AGE AGE
