This work of art was made in spring 2022 by the artist BOMBER as a tribute to the Ginnheim district of Frankfurt with the words „Weil ich aus Ginnheim bin“, which means in English „Because I’m from Ginnheim“. It’s a quote from a pastiche by the musician and satire duo Badesalz on 3P and Moses Pelham from the 90s.
The Europaturm or also called „Ginnheimer Spargel“, which would mean in English „Ginnheim Asparagus“, is a landmark of Frankfurt and is located in the Ginnheim district. The motif appears in many places in the mural and BOMBER creatively painted the telecommunications tower half as a tower and half as a flower.
With 337.5 meters in height the Europaturm or Europetower is the fourth tallest building in Germany after the Berliner Fernsehturm (television tower with 368 meters), the Marinefunksendestelle Rhauderfehn (naval transmitter station with 352,8 meters) and the Sender Höhbeck (transmitter with 344 meters). The tower was planned by the architect Johannes Möhrle with the collaboration of Peter Metzger and Erwin Heinle. Construction work began in 1974 and broadcasting operations started in 1979.
