Tribute to Harald & Dorothee Poelchau – Resistance
This magnificent mural is not only visually beautiful, it also honors important people who fought for ideals and freedom. The mural shows the portraits of the married couple Harald and Dorothee Poelchau, who risked their lives in resistance against German National Socialism before and during the Third World War.
The prison priest and religious socialist Harald Poelchau was born on October 5th in 1903 in Potsdam and died on April 29th in 1972 in Berlin. His wife and librarian Dorothee lived from June 6th in 1902 to November 4th in 1977. Both are considered important resistance fighters against the Nazi regime and this mural was created in their honor and memory by the duo INNERFIELDS with the support and idea by the association GEDENKSTÄTTE DEUTSCHER WIDERSTAND. The whole project was connected and curated by YAP STUDIO and URBAN NATION as part of the „One Wall Series“ with support by STIFTUNG BERLINER LEBEN.
