Tribute for rapper TOOMAJ imprisoned in Iran
TOOMAJ SALEHI is an Iranian hip-hop artist best known for his critical protest lyrics about Iran’s social problems and criticism of the policies of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. When he called for support for the mass protests following the death of MASHA JINA AMINI in September 2022, he was arrested. He is threatened with the death penalty. Tribute to Jina Mahsa Amini
KOSAR about the artwork: Tribute to Jina Mahsa Amini and the Iranian people fighting for regaining their freedom. She has been murdered recently by the Iranian mullah regime because of not wearing her hijab correctly. Her death caused the revolution in Iran. She died at the age of 22. I never asked anyone of you for something but this time please share to make all these incredibly brave people heard throughout the world and give them some love in their darkest hours. It would be so easy … I do hope so much that this piece will at least encourage one person who has lost her courage to stand up again and carry on the fight for freedom. – KOSAR
The death of Mahsa Amini occurred on September 16, 2022. She died while being detained in Tehran, having previously been arrested by Iran’s morality police for not wearing the hijab correctly in public. Mahsa Amini, born September 16, 2000 in Saqqez, died September 16, 2022.
