GERMANY: Streetart Berlin – Lichterfelde – Curtius 6 – Paul Emisch Haus – GÜNTER BOSCHAN

The Paul Emisch House is a historic villa built in 1895 by the architect WILHELM SANDER. It took him three years to build the house for himself and his family and, as an advocate of old German bourgeois urban architecture, he had the facades painted with colorful murals by the artist GÜNTER M. P. BOSCHAN. The banker Paul Emisch later acquired the house and had the murals completed and added to. There are medieval motifs and religious themes such as Noha’s Ark, as well as eagles, saints and heroes. The building and the wall art have been listed since the 1990s and are restored and renewed at various intervals.
