RIOT 1394 is a graffiti artist and illustrator born in 1988 in a small town in western Austria. He has been working and living in Berlin for 11-12 years, is self-taught and has been drawing since he could hold a pencil. At the age of 15 he discovered his love for graffiti and letters and has been experimenting ever since. His influences do not come from hip hop as many do, but rather from punk, electronic music, underground comix and trash films. Figurative elements are mixed with abstract and classic graffiti elements. Contrasts, whether in color, technique or subject matter, are very important to him in his works. He wants to make the viewer stop and invite them into a world of detail. Using a mixed technique, he tries to combine his two waves of drawing on paper and spraying on the wall. With spray can, airbrush, acrylic and marker he shows an insight into his world full of expressive frescoes, graffiti and other elements. Reduced in color, he wants to test the tension and the boundaries between the different techniques. – Kunsttage
