The „Wohngemeinschaft Bonameser Straße“ at Bonameser Straße 178 is located in the Eschersheim district of Frankfurt. It is home to part of the historic Bonameser Straße residential community, which was established as early as the 1950s. The settlement was originally built for showmen, circus families, Yenish people, and other itinerant groups seeking a permanent place to live. In the past, there were many trailers and small dwellings there; later, permanent houses were gradually built. To this day, the settlement remains a special place in Frankfurt because people with different lifestyles live closely together there. Many families have lived there for several generations. Bonameser Straße is therefore not only a residential area but also a piece of Frankfurt’s social and urban history. Since 2025, the administration building at the entrance has been adorned all around with a beautiful, colorful mural depicting scenes from the circus world, including performers, clowns, and caravans.
