Alexanderplatz is getting colorful!
Abstract shapes combined with Berlin landmarks and bold colors are bringing new life to the otherwise gray surroundings and making a creative statement right in the heart of the city. For the Berlinian construction project on Alexanderplatz, a 270-meter-long construction fence was designed by the artist SEBASTIAN BOLDT aka VESUV. 450 square meters of pure handwork, in which the previously developed graphic concept was transferred to each individual wooden panel in just three weeks.
Several other artists helped painting the huge surface, including BORDER, FOKUZ DESIGN, KLÄRCHENS, MARTIN GNADT, OG OBERGESCHOSS and STEFAN LÜCK. The project was curated by BASA STUDIO, which is the sister company of BOOK A STREETARTIST, with the support of C3 and COMMERZ REAL. – Vesuv
The super-long artwork starts at the canopy in the pedestrian zone at Alexanderplatz and runs north to Karl Liebknecht Straße. From there, it heads southwest and then around the corner along the property to the southeast on Dircksenstraße. Overall, it forms a “U” shape around the new Berlinian building.
