The Fleeting Opulence of Spring – Flower Clouds
At Potsdamer Platz, GRAPHIC REWILDING presents a floral homage to Germany’s native wildflowers: magnolia, cornflower, cherry blossom, buttercup, daisy, and tansy. The „Fleeting Opulence of Spring“ transforms the glass facades of The Playce into a radiant, cathedral-like space. Five colorful flower clouds invite visitors to pause and enjoy a moment of tranquility. This installation captures the vibrant, fleeting beauty of spring and creates a colorful, nature-filled refuge in the heart of the city.
GRAPHIC REWILDING is an artist duo from Brighton, England, consisting of CATHERINE BOROWSKI and LEE BAKER. Their large-scale, flower-inspired installations create a connection between urban spaces and nature. Inspired by Japanese sumi-e painting and the aesthetics of PATRICK CAULFIELD (1936-2005), their powerful, immersive art brings joy and reflection to unexpected places—from castle ruins to shopping malls. With vibrant colors and rhythmic repetition, they transform gray urban landscapes into moments of beauty, tranquility, and playful energy.
GRAPHIC REWILDING: „Berlin is renowned for its spring streets, which are covered with cherry blossoms and magnolias. We are honored to have been invited to create our large-scale, maximalist artworks, which are inspired not only by these blossoms, but also by a variety of wildflowers, including daffodils and Germany’s national flower, the cornflower.“
