Urban Art Biennale 2024 – „Obus Gothique“
The French artist OX was born in Troyes in 1963 and is currently based in the town of Bagnolet. His works are usually characterized by posters and paste-up creations, but for the 2024 Biennale he created an archway as a negative cutout through which visitors walk titled „Obus Gothique“, which means in English „Gothic Shell“. The bright and intense orange of this installation offers an extremely interesting contrast to the metallic pipes and constructions of the Völklingen ironworks. Old worker’s equipment from previous times was also decorative positioned, which gives the whole thing even more contrasting charm.
