Over the Pentecost days from May 31st to June 9th in 2017, the Spanish artist LULA GOCE thrilled passers-by in Hannover with her impressive art. Since then, sea monsters, flowers and the mysterious face of a woman have shown many details in photorealistic depth at Schmiedestrasse 27.
When you read the CV of the Galician artist LULA GOCE, you sense her restlessness and her irrepressible desire to find out more, learn new things and continually develop. After working in Salamanca and Barcelona, between training, studying and doctoring, she took countless courses on topics such as film, video, production and graphic design. Everything in her life revolves around art, and so it was only a matter of time before her delicate but stylistically outstanding murals became increasingly popular.
Today LULA GOCE works all over Europe and impresses an ever larger audience with her often floral, always a little somnambulistic and floating images. In Hanover, the renowned artist created a collage of sea monsters, flowers and the face of a young woman. The passers-by standing in front of the house at Schmiedestraße 27 continually discover new details and admire the photorealistic depth of the mysterious-looking face on the side facade.
When you look at the mural you will certainly discover the deeper meaning of the sea monster after a while – and if not, then the fascination of a unique image will remain, which will bring Hannover a little more into the focus of the street art world. But before viewers rack their brains too much, the 40-year-old artist reveals her own interpretation of the sea monster: “Perhaps it simply stands for the monsters that we sometimes have in our heads.” It’s good to see them surrounded by flowers .
Inspired by LULA GOCE‘s artistic talent, the Gundlach building and real estate company asked her for a mural for their office building Am Holzgraben. Many tenants and business partners who visit every day are also fascinated by her incomparable style.
