RAMON MARTINS, who, according to unanimous press opinion, is one of the most innovative and electrifying artists of his generation, has now also enchanted Hannover with his pictures. The artist has not only created great art in numerous cities, but also exhibited his works in galleries around the globe. As part of the Gundlach Streetart Summer, the artist RAMON MARTINS left his first footsteps in Hannover. His latest work “Inside yourself” adorns the once gray facade at Engelbosteler Damm 11, which he designed from August 26th to September 2nd in 2017. The motif depicts a beautiful woman who, according to MARTINS, takes a bath in the aura that surrounds her. In the picture he plays with nature and the world of colors, which he says he has fallen for.
A magazine once wrote that RAMON MARTINS‘ works seem a little psychedelic, and if you look at the violence of the colors and the variety of motifs used in a picture, you can easily understand this in many pictures. The origin of this lies in the multitude of influences that inspire the Brazilian artist. Whether Asian or African cultures, nature, the streets of Sao Paulo, the city in which he lived and worked for a long time, or a variety of writers, everything seems to inspire RAMON MARTINS. He incorporates everything that inspires him into his compositions. It is probably the variety and strength of the colors chosen that make passers-by stop to admire his work. Especially on large walls, his pictures look like a kaleidoscope of a multi-layered, lively and fun-loving city. – Gundlach
