The MASSIF CENTRAL is a wonderful creative space in Frankfurt that unites many genres and brings people together. A kiosk with a gallery, a trendy bar with a bicycle workshop, a canteen with public viewing, a showroom for special presentations, a concept store that functions as a social meeting point. Everything together in an old fashioned former printing company building. That and much more is the MASSIF CENTRAL.
The location at Eschenheimer Landstraße is only permanent and soon this colourful place will no longer exist there, but the idea very much will! The MASSIF CENTRAL will of course continue in new premises and continue to bring wacky innovation, offbeat projects and artistic ventures mixed with heartfelt passion to the city.
Since we are not sure how the place will end up being „disassembled“ and what will be left, the individual areas are divided into different sub-pages. Here you can find the info about the MASSIF CENTRAL in general and the artworks inside the building. But also have a look at the separate pages on the grandiose mural by PESH on the outside walls, also on the fascinating large works on the concrete floor around the building and the interesting artwork on one of the side buildings.
On 25th of February 2023 we had FLORIAN JOECKEL from the collective as a guest in the studio at Radio X, it was an exciting show! He is also a main member of TAB e.V. and the collective GUILTY 76 STREET GUIERILLA, which are doing fantastic stuff combined with sports and art all around the world. The podcast of the interview is in German (English translated text is coming soon!). The audio tells you more about this great creative place, about their mission and what’s going on there. It simply inspires and motivates you to become creative yourself!
On January the 14th in 2023, the grandiose local Frankfurt spray can shop CANPIRE run by MARIO LAUGELL aka KENT had unfortunately closed its doors. A wall of cans from the former shop stands as a reminder and for the next storage in the MASSIF CENTRAL. Temporarily as a tribute and until it goes on. By the way, new cans have been available at Homebase since 1st March from PINO CARUSO, who has taken over all the other inventory! Still one of the former can walls is kept here. As a tribute to what has been done in the past, and also as a reminder that it has to go on again. The wall is just stored and is waiting to be used again.
