The visit at the autonomic Jugendzentrum Glocksee in the Calenberg Neustadt district is simply a MUST for all graffiti and urban art fans. The UJZ or just Glocksee emerged from the youth center movement in 1972 and is after the autonomic center UJZ Kornstraße in the Nordstadt the oldest organized facility of its kind in Germany. In the backyard you can find a half-pipe and a dirt-track, inside the building is the youth center, a children day, a social work center, a Theater and the self-governed culture event locations Cafe Glocksee and Indiego, which are famous for good concerts and cool parties. The building complex of the old Fuhramt host now several social projects, art venues, music events and offers a lot of space for urban art. The walls are covered with great streetart and graffiti, actually the whole street is one big awesome piece of color and paintings.
