Exhibition: „Beziehungsweise“ – DIETRICH HELLER & ANNEGRET MARIA KON
From 18th February till 24th March 2024 art interested people could admire the exhibition „Beziehungsweise“ with artworks of DIETRICH HELLER and ANNEGRET MARIA KON in the MUSEUM ALTES RATHAUS. The exhibitions at this art space are organized and curated as part of the project KUNSTMARKT LEINGARTEN by the HEIMATVEREIN LEINGARTEN, which is the local history society.
The two Bremen-based artists, whose sculptures have already been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions, are master students of the renowned sculptor and university lecturer professor BERND ALTENSTEIN, who has already presented works by him at the Leingarten Museum in 2020 and 2023.
ANNEGRET MARIA KON, born in 1978, studied vascular ceramics, humanities and art as well as figurative sculpture. Since 2009, she has been teaching courses at the Peccia Sculpture School „Scuola di Scultura“ in Ticino, Switzerland, and at the Summer Academy in Marburg. The sculptures of the artist, who was born in Blieskastel in Saarland, illustrate an inner attitude that finds expression in the body language of the figures, as a resting within oneself as a quality of becoming human. Kon varies this body language in the most subtle way, without resorting to grand heroic sculptural poses. Her colorful figures and half-reliefs are part of a kind of inventory of the human condition today.
Born in Giessen in 1965 and raised in Marktbreit near Würzburg, sculptor DIETRICH HELLER studied mechanical engineering, trained as a wood sculptor for three years and completed a degree in fine art/sculpture from 1995 to 2004. The freelance sculptor refers to Christian iconography in his stone and bronze works. In his compositional calculation, the boundary between abstraction and motif becomes blurred. The viewer discovers the harmonious wholeness of the object through changing views and shifts in perspective. In terms of perspective, Heller’s figures are arranged as if they were in motion and coming directly towards the viewer. – Heimatverein Leingarten
