The facade art project “Stadtfeld zeigt Gesicht”, in English „Stadtfeld shows its face“, was implemented from mid-September to the end of October 2023, with outstanding artists creating five large-scale murals, as well as smaller works. The campaign was commissioned by the city of Hildesheim and carried out under the direction of the KULTURFABRIK LÖSEKE in collaboration with urban artist OLE GÖRGENS from the creative agency SPRÜHWERK. In the run-up, the team worked with the Beamten-Wohnungs-Verein zu Hildesheim eG (BWV), the owner of the properties, to select facades in the Stadtfeld area around Triftäckerstraße. The artists each created two designs, which resulted in a total of eight designs, four of which were ultimately choosen. The works tell stories of community and neighborhood, drawing on themes from the Stadtfeld district. For example, HELEN BUR photographed the Yazici family playing Okey at their garden table and transferred this scene to a large mural on the wall. The children of the neighborhood were also involved and were allowed to participate in a two-day workshop on October 14th and 15th. Under the direction of OLE GÖRGENS a facade was created as an opener for the Mural Gallery on the Triftäckerstraße.
