Beautiful Hildesheim – 2018
The Nordstadt district has gained a new attraction. On 15th October 2018, the Telekom distribution box at the corner of Peiner Straße and Steuerwalderstraße was transformed by OLE GÖRGENS. The redesign of the box began in the early afternoon and was completed promptly at 6 pm. Instead of a gray and graffiti-covered box, a colorful landscape now adorns the corner. Symbols representing the Nordstadt district are featured on the box. The Innerste River, a unifying element, flows through the image, and both sides are connected by a bridge. It’s a beautiful image that symbolizes the diversity and positive community spirit in Nordstadt.
The project was initiated by RENATE SMOCK, a dedicated resident of Ochtersum. She is not only responsible for the project but also regularly collects litter to keep Peiner Straße and tree pits cleaner. The project was funded through an application to the STADTTEIL.AKTIV.KASSE, in English „Neighborhood Activity Fund“, which, affiliated with the neighborhood association NORDSTADT MEHR WERT, in English „North City More Value“, provides financial support for small projects in the district. – Nordstadt Mehr Wert
