Schlossbrunnen – Castle Fountain
The historic legends say that St. Nepomuk did not reveal the secret of his confession and was therefore thrown into the Moldau river. His robe flies ahead of him and takes on the form of the fallen man. A circle of stars was seen on the water where he sank. The sculpture shows this scenerey and was inaugurated in 1995. It was built up hollow from thin sheets of wax and cast in bronze by the STRASSACKER art foundry from the town of Süßen using the original lost wax process. The artwork was made by sculptor and painter KARL-HENNING SEEMANN, who lived from 13th March 1934 till 14th January 2023.
