The LODDERBAST aka LDRBST is a former arthouse cinema in Hannover (2018 to 2022). With its 24 seats on 39 square meters, it was considered the smallest cinema in the world and was awarded the Lower Saxony Cinema Program Prize four times in a row, won the Cinema Prize of the Cinematheque Association in 2021 and was voted the most popular cinema in Germany in 2020.
But LODDERBAST is also a slightly untidy cinema on wheels, founded in 2022. Equipped with fully mobile cinema technology, the Lodderbast travels the country and cinematizes everything that is not yet in 16:9 at 4:3. Armed with an international short film festival called REELS ON WHEELS, the mobile cinema brings its light show to even the darkest corners of Europe and beyond. The rolling showcase also polishes its screen to a high gloss for corporate and private celebrations. And LODDERBAST is as well a creative duo from Oldenburg and Hannover, who released their first film ONCE UPON A TIME IN GERMANY in 2022 and 2023. The work is a live Super8 film, which the director couple Wiebke and Johannes Thomsen set to music live with sound samples. – Lodderbast
