Millerntor Gallery – MTG – Exhibition Edition – 2021
In 2021 the fantastic MILLERNTOR GALLERY festival unfortunately could not take place in event style due to the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdowns, but there was an exhibition with great artworks. Even during this difficult times it still took place at the St. Pauli football stadium, just in a different way, but it kept on with the mission to show that art, creativity and the motivation to help are continueing. And behind that art is the charity project ART CREATES WATER or VIVA CON AGUA ARTS with the aim of providing access to water for people in regions of the world without water. From 2020 to 2022 there were lockdowns and larger gatherings were not possible, so the 2021 edition was an exhibition with around 100 artworks and called “100 Blickwinkel”. Means “100 Perspectives” in English. This year’s motto was “Hier geht mehr als Fußball”, which would mean in English “There is more going on here than soccer”, and the slogan “Power of Diversity”. All profits from the Millerntor Gallery go via the project towards charity organization VIVA CON AGUA. The great photos of the fantastic artworks from this year were taken by the photographer SUSANN KRÖGER.
VIVA CON AGUA ARTS about the event: The redesign of the 3rd and 4th floors of the main stand is all about diversity. We want to artistically promote the social development towards more diversity and equality. In this exhibition, we are presenting more than 100 works that celebrate the attitude to life, diversity, the club and the St. Pauli district from the perspective of exclusively female, trans, queer and non-binary artists.
